Grade card for first grade class at Southside Elem. Southside Elementary School Teacher: Elizabeth M. Deitz Student: James Whitnery Southside Elementary School Principal: Clyde Marsh

 | Here is the picture of the post WWII "huts" built as temporary housing for returning GIs. The child is me-James Whitney. I'm wearing a knit cap and high water pants-hand me downs from my big brother Eddie. My dog lived under the porch- all the better Richwood homes had a dog under the porch back then. James Whitney-grandson of Charlie and Eva Whitney. |
"The Littlest Mountaineer" This was taken during squirrel season about 1952. My first "big game" taken at six years old. The car was a neighbors as my Grand Ma Whitney had a Nash Rambler. Grand Pa Charlie Whitney died in 1951 so my Uncle Jack and Uncle Ben Whitney must have staged this photo. James Whitney | |
