1902 Holy Family Parish in Richwood established, and 1913 Sacred Heart Hospital in Richwood opened.
In 1954 the new Sacred Heart Hospital was opened, is probably best known nowadays as Richwood Area Community Hospital (RACH), that serves the city of Richwood and several surrounding communities. The Catholic hospital in its prime was one of the best equipment facilities in eastern West Virginia serving the rural areas of Nicholas, northern Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Webster counties.
